The concert: Alternative Night is the second of a three-night concert series supporting the 105th Grey Cup Festival, a week-long celebration of all things Canadian culminating in the Canadian Football League championship game on November 26 between the Calgary Stampeders and Toronto Argonauts.
Sloan: The venerable power-pop quartet and Juno Award–winning rockers have cranked out one infectious album after another since 1991, including Twice Removed, which the readers of Chart! magazine once named the best Canadian album ever recorded.
Reuben and the Dark: Led by songwriter Reuben Bullock, this indie quartet churned out brooding folk songs on their their debut album, Funeral Sky, in 2014 and made waves in 2016 when their single “Heart in Two” reached No. 1 on CBC Radio 2.
Dwayne Gretzky: This supergroup cover band made up of a collective of established Toronto musicians rocks out to an eclectic mix of hitmakers, including Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac, the Strokes, and the Supremes.
