Starting in 2012 with only the Thursday night outdoor dance social outside of a cafe on Sparks street and turning into a block party, by 2013 Latin Sparks geared up to bring thousands to dance on an island. As the event continued to grow, in 2014, Latin Sparks expanded to five parties on a two-block radius, and in 2016 the dance festival moved to its current home on Albert Island — allowing Ottawa residents to better experience and celebrate Latin culture.
