That’s not pixie dust leaping in the wake of Peter Pan—it’s a mist of sparkling ice. With Wendy, Michael, and John in tow, the Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up flies across the rink to Neverland, a magical place where kids eat candy for dinner, bedtimes don’t exist, and becoming a pirate is a viable career choice. And while Peter Pan on Ice places the story in the unconventional environment of the skating rink, the production hits all the familiar hallmarks of the story: Tinker Bell flits jealously through the air, the Lost Boys execute puckish acrobatics, and Tiger Lily and her band of warriors don torches as they take on the villainous Captain Hook and his buccaneers. All of these forces collide in a climatic final battle that involves jaw-dropping rope stunts, swordplay, and, of course, numerous double axels aboard the Jolly Roger.
