Kichesippi Beer Co. takes its name from the Ottawa River, or, at least, what the Ottawa River used to be called. Before a city grew up along its shores, the waterway was known as Kichesippi, meaning Grand River. It’s a deep cut of local trivia, but the brewers at Kichesippi Beer Co. love all things local. They ferment beverages such as their signature Natural Blonde pale ale locally. They deliver their drinks only to local bars, stores, and venues. They even craft a series of IPAs in international styles, putting a little local Ottawa twist on them.

Their beverage portfolio includes more than beers, as well. They also make and bottle Harvey and Vern’s sodas, sugary beverages made in an old-fashioned style. They make a creamy, frothy root beer, for instance, infused with the flavor of yucca, which adds a little wintergreen bite to balance the sweetness of pure cane sugar that make up the rest of the drink.
